we have had an unusual spring here in the foothills of the sierra nevadas, with mild, cool days which may linger on for the beginning of summer, a mere 8 days away.
i awoke early today, and went into a chilly morning to gather sweet peas and wild roses.

it is very fragrant in my garden at the moment; the jasmine is thriving and is heavenly outside my bedroom window, the perfume carried in by the soft breezes.
the lavender is plentiful and the roses are preparing for a second bloom.
the hydrangeas are finally flowering, and i was surprised to see hollyhocks (so early!) in a neighbor's yard as i walked my dog last evening.
we may even get rain today, which is great...the chore of watering slavishly morning and evening will be part of the day's routine soon enough.
whatever you have planned for the weekend, we hope you find time to savor and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, wherever you may be.
