we were excited to find these, as they are most likely from the late 1930s or 40s.
someone traveled far and wide throughout the country and visited a variety of places.
come along, as we tour:
there is a collection of exteriors of the fabulous palace at versallies, home of marie antoinette...
and photos of the lush and opulent interiors of the palace.
a sampling of the sites of paris, city of lights...
and hand tinted photos of the chateau at pierrefonds....
as well as some of the cathedrals and churches of france.
and, of course, no trip would be complete without a visit to the fabulous french riviera.
see the wonders that the museum at versailles holds, including portraits of marie antoinette.
visit the beautiful chateau at rambouillet;
and the petit trianon, the house of the queen, marie antoinette.
we think these cards are wonderful...what a dreamy, exotic trip that must have been.

we think these cards are wonderful...what a dreamy, exotic trip that must have been. the cards were bought to keep as souvenirs: they have not been written upon and have been cherished in someone's drawer as mementos of that trip...perhaps a honeymoon? or a trip to celebrate a retirement?
these would be fabulous for altered and collage art. the paper has that genuine vintage patina that only the years can give.
stop by and see them for yourself...they are newly listed and featured in our 'latest finds'.
ahhh, france...these postcards make us want to pack a bag and set off for a whilrwind tour of our own.
